10 Potter Ladies Who Kick Butt

10 Potter Ladies Who Kick Butt

  1. McGonagall
Minerva McGonagall: Professor McGongall doesn’t put up with anyone’s crap. Minerva is tough but good-hearted and never goes down without a fight, standing alongside Harry and the trio until the end of the battle.
  2. New-promotional-pictures-of-Emma-Watson-for-Harry-Potter-and-the-Deathly-Hallows-part-1-hermione-granger-31934019-1920-2560
Hermione Granger: Hermione is a given on this list. She uses magic to defeat everyone from schoolyard bullies to the most evil wizard of all time. Hermione is powerful and clever enough to destroy the Horcruxes and helps Harry every step of the way.
  3. ginny
Ginny Weasley: Despite the disrespect the films did for Ginny, she’s easily one of the toughest gals in the series. It can’t be easy to date “The Chosen One,” but Ginny handles it with power and grace. She’s talented, smart, and saves Dumbledore’s Army when the trio leaves school.
  4. Quibbler-Luna
Luna Lovegood: Luna’s creativity and bravery set her apart. Part of the group that accompanies Harry to the Ministry in Order of the Phoenix, Luna has a spirit that can’t be broken, even when she is kidnapped in Deathly Hallows. Luna is always true to herself, and nothing’s more badass than that.
  5. lily
Lily Evans: Although we don’t get to know much about Lily, what we know is wonderful – she defends Harry literally to the death; she stands up against James when he picks on Snape; she joins the Order right out of school to fight against Voldemort. Lily is spirited, brave, and clever – if nothing else, she is Harry’s mom, and we wouldn’t have the series without her.
  6. cho
Cho Chang: I know, I know, what’s Cho doing here? Cho Chang joined Dumbledore’s Army when she was told not to, and it was clearly dangerous to join. She even participated in the Battle of Hogwarts. Cho might not be the toughest girl, but there is no doubt she is smart and courageous.
  7. alice and frank
Alice Longbottom: Alice and Frank Longbottom are part of the original Order of the Phoenix. Her bravery, while eventually leading to her lifetime stay in St. Mungo’s, did help bring down Voldemort (the first time) and protect her son, who became an important wizard himself!
  8. lavender
Lavender Brown: I know, Lavender is annoying. She’s all over Ron and cries a lot. But she’s also a Gryffindor, part of Dumbledore’s army, and courageous till the very end of Deathly Hallows. She’s no Hermione, but Lavender fights for what is right, even when it’s difficult.
  9. molly weasley
Molly Weasley: Molly’s iconic “Not my daughter!” line cemented her as the coolest mom in the series. She fiercely defended not only her children but Harry, too, even when it was inconvenient. Molly is tough, knows her way around many useful spells, and works hard to defend what’s right. She’s even a member of the Order! Mrs. Weasley is one tough lady.
  10. fleur
Fleur Delacour: We first meet Fleur when she participates in the Triwizard Tournament. Despite her sweet and delicate nature, Fleur fights till the end of the Tournament, fought alongside the Order against Voldemort, and protects the trio in her home in Deathly Hallows without hesitation. Fleur is brave, strong, and clever – a formula for badassery!

Hmm. Maybe it’s just me but I’d rather have Tonks on this list than Cho Chang..

    • Jess

FOR REAL THOUGH! I lover her! Biggest badass!

      • Lei

It’s not just you, she’s the best!

  • Jess

Cho? But not Tonks? Like honestly?

  • Lei

What about Tonks? She was a badass! There’s been an oversight.

  • Zet

WHERE IS TONKS?????? Good list, but I think we were scraping the barrel a bit with Lavender when Tonks should have been on the list.

    • Garrett

THANK YOU! Tonks is my favorite female character by far! She was such a badass this upsets me!

  • Ari

I don’t agree with this at all WHERE IS TONKS!

  • Emily

Someone put Tonks on this list, like Lavender, please no.

  • Kristen

Whoever made this list has obviously never heard of Tonks…

  • Zap

Tonks was an Auror, youngest Order member, married a werewolf and fought in all the battles and she is not on the list but Lavender is?

  • Mad

THIS IS CRAP WHERE IS TONKS SHES MY FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lyss

Maybe everyone should stop being whiny babies because they didn’t get what they wasn’t and appreciate that amazing HP woman like lavender and cho were mentioned in this because they truly don’t get enough recognition. Seriously everyone, grow up.

    • Lyss

      *want not wasn’t

    • Vicki

Maybe they just think their favorite character who is amazing, does not get enough recognition either…

      • Bob

Was this article written for them specifically? No.

  • Jess

I think people just want there favorites recognition too or recognition for characters they think deserve it that’s all.

  • Sydney

Tonks is my boo but!! I love seeing characters like Fluer, and Lanvender and Cho here. It’s great for people to recognize that you don’t have to be a Tonks or a Ginny to still be really strong. After all, the most important traits about female characters isn’t that they’re badass, it’s that they’re fleshed out people.

    • Sydney

      *Fleur dang it

  • monochromatix

Whoever made this has obviously never read the books. Lavender over tonks? I can see fleur . She was a triwizard athlete but… no tonks? Give me a break

    • Jo

if they work for mugglenet, I’m gonna guess they’ve read the books

  • Elvis Gaunt

    Augasta Longbottom!

  • crookshanks11

I’m really happy that this article acknowledged some of the more “unpopular” characters like Cho and Lavender. I think that they are strong in their own way and don’t get enough recognition. Sure, Tonks isn’t on the list but there are so many strong females in Harry Potter that the list could go on forever. Nice article! :)

  • badassravenclaw

Hey just saying, why isn’t Tonks here? :) Just suggesting, but a very nice article. :D

  • Phil Boswell

Just to point out, the title is “10 ladies who kick butt”: not “the top 10…” or “the only 10…”. There were a bunch of other ladies from Potter canon who might have made it onto the list had it been longer, this just happens to be the 10 chosen this time around.

Also, is it ironic that the article speaks of “disrespect” for Ginny when her picture is the only one with a borked link? :-P
